  1. Basic Table Setting-

  • Place the placement on the table
  • Place the dinner plate in the middle of the placement
  • Place the napkin to the left of the plate
  • Place the fork on the napkin
  • On the right side of the plate, put the knife closest to the plate, blade pointing in. Put the spoon to the right of the knife
  • Place the water glass smoothly above the plate, in between the plate and the utensils. 


  1. Casual Table Setting- 


The casual restaurant table setting is quite popular at big events, like weddings and dinner parties. It delivers a special touch without feeling too musty. To set a proper casual table, you require a knife and fork for the starter and main course, soup spoon is also added. You will also require a spoon and dessert fork, put horizontally above the plate. The type of glass depends on what you deliver, but a water glass or wine glass is placed above the knives in the top right. You put napkins in the middle of the table setting. Casual table settings are an ideal place to play around with different styles. You are required to have a water glass, wine glass, and champagne flute for every person, but you combined styles and colors to make it unique. In a Casual dining setting, charger plates are also an excellent way to get creative. If you want a rustic look then you choose a mirrored glass or a piece of shaped wood. 


Casual Restaurant Table Setting Instructions- 


  • Place the placement on the table
  • Place the dinner plate in the middle of the placement
  • Put the salad plate on top of the dinner plate
  • If you deliver soup first then place the soup bowl with the salad plate
  • Put a napkin to the left of the table
  • Place the fork on the napkin to the left side of the plate
  • Place the knife closer to the plate and the spoon, on the right side of the plate
  • Place a water glass above the knife
  • Place the wine glasses close to the water glass


  1. Formal Dinner Table- 


If you are preparing for an amazing dinner party, you are required to know how to set a table for three meals. The most major contrast between a casual table and a formal table is exhibition plates. To set a formal restaurant  table setting you need, a tablecloth, chargers, diner plates, soup bowls, salad plates, bread plates, napkins, salad forks, dinner girls, knives, soup spoons, butter knives, desert spoons, water glasses, red wine glasses and white wine glasses. If you know how to arrange a casual table then you easily set a formal table with charger plates. 


Formal Dinner Table Setting Instructions- 


  • Place an ironed tablecloth on the table
  • Set charger at every seat
  • Place a soup bowl in the center of the table
  • Put the bread plate on the top of the charger
  • Place napkins to the left of the charger
  • On the left of the charger, position the salad fork on the outer side and the dinner fork on the inner side. You have the option to place the forks on the napkin or, for more spacious arrangements, directly on the tablecloth between the napkin and the charger.
  • Place the knife and soup spoon on the right side of the charger
  • Place a dessert spoon above the charger
  • Place salt and pepper shakers for individuals above the dessert spoon.
